Bridesmaids will go down in cinema history as one of the funniest movies to ever be released. It has everything from a stellar cast to glorious improvisation and it is topped off with an unstoppable energy that cannot be beaten. The hilarious film starring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Melissa Mccarthy, came out back in 2010 and we are still trying to find a single film that can top it (or at least reach the same level as Bridesmaids).

It’s no easy task to find films that are just as good (or almost as good) as Bridesmaids, but we’ve gathered a bunch of options so you don’t have to. Without further ado, here are 10 movies to watch if you are as obsessed with Bridesmaids as we are!

BOOKSMART

Booksmart is an incredible film directed by Olivia Wilde, starring Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever. It centers around two soon-to-be high school graduates who realize that all the great creative minds throughout history were known to break the rules. Unfortunately for them, they haven’t broken the rules once throughout their entire school careers.

They decide they need to have a night of trouble-making in order to catch up to the rest of their grade so they can say they’ve “lived a little” during high school. It is just an all-around masterfully crafted movie and it is definitely up there as one of the greatest comedy films since Bridesmaids.

MISS CONGENIALITY

Miss Congeniality is a hilarious movie that is filled with beautiful and unexpected friendships a-la Bridesmaids. It stars Sandra Bullock as an unkempt FBI agent who goes undercover as a glammed up beauty pageant contestant. At first, she doesn’t take the position seriously and she considers these pageant girls to be a joke. Yet as the film goes on she has a newfound respect for these women and they become her lifelong friends.

CLUELESS

If you haven’t seen Clueless yet starring Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd, just what the heck are you doing with your life? This ’90s gem is such a classic due to its sense of humor and awe-inspiring style.

It centers around Cher Horowitz, a high schooler who must learn that there is more to life than the valley girl bubble she resides in. This movie has everything from hilarious slang words we still use today to unexpected romance that is sure to make you swoon.

JENNIFER’S BODY

Jennifer’s Body can easily be considered one of the strangest movies you will ever see, which is no surprise considering it is written by Diablo Cody (aka the mastermind behind Juno). This film famously went from being an underappreciated bust in 2009 to a “feminist cult classic” ten years later. The horror-comedy centers around Jennifer Check, (Megan Fox), a high schooler who is sacrificed to the devil by an aspiring indie-band called Low-Shoulder.

Sound interesting? Trust us. It is. After being sacrificed, she turns into a succubus who feeds on the souls of the boys in her school. Everything about this movie is filled with excitement and shameless humor and it is one of those movies you can watch over and over again without ever getting bored.

WINE COUNTRY

Wine Country is strikingly similar to Bridesmaids for many reasons. For one, it centers around the hilarious ladies of Saturday Night Live. It is also focused on friendship as the central theme of the movie. Both Wine Country and Bridesmaids concentrate on all the pressures that can derive from planning a big party whether that be a 50th birthday as we see in Wine Country or a wedding as we see in Bridesmaids.

Long-term friendships are tested, but at the end of the day, they are able to make it through all of the struggles and turmoil they must face. Wine Country isn’t as funny as Bridesmaids, (then again, what is?), but it does an excellent job creating tension between characters and it’s impossible not to fall in love with all of them.

SEX AND THE CITY (THE MOVIE)

Fans of Sex and The City couldn’t get enough of Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha, and Miranda. So instead of saying goodbye to these characters for good when the show ended in 2004, we were blessed with not one, but two films about the fabulous HBO series. What made Sex and The City such an unforgettable and iconic series was the fact that these women were depicted as relatable women rather than squeaky clean role model characters.

We could see ourselves in these women and they never held back from being the crass and open-minded ladies of NYC (well, maybe with the exception of Charlotte). Like Bridesmaids, these ladies were praised for never holding back which is why it is the perfect movie to watch for fans of the Kristen Wiig/Maya Rudolph comedy film.

MEAN GIRLS

How could we not include Mean Girls on this list? Like Bridesmaids, Mean Girls is also packed with SNL icons such as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Mean Girls also centers around the struggles that can arise from female friendships which is always a fascinating subject. If any movie is as hilarious and well-written as Bridesmaids while at the same time tackling similar issues, it’s Mean Girls.

GIRLS TRIP

As sad as it is, all friend groups tend to fall apart at some point. People come in and out of our lives even if we were extremely close to them at one point. Yet even though friend groups tend to lose touch at one point or another, this doesn’t mean that the relationship can’t be rekindled later in life. This is exactly what happens in the 2017 comedy film Girls Trip, starring Tiffany Haddish and Jada Pinkett Smith.

The movie centers around a group of women who used to be best friends until life happened and they went their separate ways. The “girls trip” is what unites all of them back together and the result is beautiful (as well as hilarious). Fans of Bridesmaids will definitely fall in love with this movie.

THE HANGOVER

The Hangover and Bridesmaids have a ton of similarities. They are both movies that revolve around a wedding and all of the obnoxious preparations leading up to that special day. Although Bridesmaids is arguably a whole lot funnier and smarter than The Hangover, both films carry the same spark and energy that only comes around every so often in the wonderful world of cinema. The Hangover is filled with excitement and laughs, so it is definitely worth the watch.

THE HOUSE BUNNY

Zeta Alpha Zeta may just be the lamest and least sought after sorority group on campus, but that’s all about to change when Anna Faris’ Shelley Darlingson stumbles along to play their house mother. As an ex-playboy bunny, Shelley needs to find a job and a purpose after being removed from the playboy mansion for being “too old”. She’s 27, which in real life is still quite young, yet according to the movie that’s “59 in ‘bunny years’”. Yikes! The sorority consists of a terrific cast such as Emma Stone and Kat Dennings just to name a few. It is a silly movie, but it is filled with laughs and is just all-around fun to watch.
