Netflix’s The Chef Show has been a surprise hit for director and writer Jon Favreau. Based off of the original Chef movie, the series follows Favreau and professional chef Roy Choi, as they discover new recipes from talented film-makers, actors, chefs and other experts in the industry.

The list of guests so far has been quite impressive. From Dave Filoni and Gwyneth Paltrow to Robert Downey Jr, Tom Holland and Seth Rogan, there really has been a who’s who of stars in the kitchen alongside these two friends. Due to the show’s success and celebrity pull, it’s very likely we’ll get to see another season of The Chef Show. To celebrate this fact, here’s a list of guests we’d love to see if there is another season released on Netflix in the future!

PAUL RUDD

Paul Rudd is almost universally loved. He’s an incredibly talented actor and always very funny to watch. It would be amazing to see Favreau and Rudd side by side in the kitchen, although we can imagine that Paul wouldn’t follow Roy’s instructions very well.

The two have crossed paths a number of times. There are actually a lot of other elements that associate them. Both have had roles in the hit sitcom Friends and they have also both had huge roles to play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

SORTEDFOOD

The YouTube channel SORTEDFood is one of the most popular food-related channels on the platform. Favreau has worked with Youtubers in the past and the popularity of these British University friends certainly isn’t dying down.

Favreau has already spoken about the food of London in the past. It makes sense that there would be an episode of The Chef Show in London. There are no better guests to have on the show than SORTEDFood, who can show Favreau around London and take him to some of the greatest foodie locations.

COURTENEY COX

Speaking of Friends, Jon Favreau famously had a small recurring role in the sitcom as Monica’s boyfriend, Pete. The two eventually had to separate so that Pete could follow his dream of winning the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Needless to say, fans are always eager for any kind of Friends reunion, so it would be really fun to have Courteney Cox on the show. Not only would it bring the former ‘couple’ back together, it would also be a perfect reference to  Monica Geller, who was a well-regarded chef on the show.

J.J. ABRAMS

Jon Favreau is pretty firmly entrenched in the world of Star Wars now. He’s already voiced characters in both the films and animated series and now he’s directing the upcoming Disney Plus show, The Mandalorian. Favreau has also previously had director and writer Dave Filoni on the show at Skywalker Ranch.

Favreau and Abrams together, talking Star Wars over some food, is probably any fans dream. It would be so interesting to see the interactions between these two Hollywood heavyweights. It will also allow viewers to see a side of J.J. that is often not portrayed.

KEVIN FEIGE

Much like an episode with J.J. Abrams, bringing Kevin Feige onto the show would be a real treat for many Marvel fans. The CCO of Marvel Entertainment is great friends with Jon Favreau, especially since they have worked together for the whole of the MCU’s run to date.

We don’t know if Feige is a foodie or adept at cooking, but the conversation alone is one that we’d really want to be a fly on the wall for. Perhaps they would talk a little bit about Phase 4 while making enchiladas, or muse over the last 11 years over a bowl of pasta.

SCARLETT JOHANSSON

She’s starred alongside Favreau in the Marvel universe many times and has actually appeared in the Chef film, so it makes sense that Scarlett Johansson would appear on The Chef Show at some point in the future. The two movie stars are actually really close friends.

Johansson was very fond of the food they made on the set of Chef, particularly the pasta that she ate in her main scene of the film. We’re sure Roy Choi could show her a few more recipes that she could add to her repertoire.

PEDRO PASCAL

The Mandalorian is heading to the Disney streaming service very soon, so it makes sense that Pedro Pascal would appear alongside the show’s creator in order to chow down on some great food. Pascal is a very charismatic actor and a good friend of Jon’s.

His Chilean background would also make for a unique topic of conversation. The show is all about drawing on cultural roots in regards to food, so Pascal would probably have some very different types of food to offer to Roy and Jon.

TAIKA WAITITI

Taika Waititi is pretty popular at the moment. With so many films under his belt and a new level of stardom thanks to his work with Marvel and his voice acting as Korg, the New Zealander is really at the top of his game.

Jon Favreau and Waititi have worked together in the past, with the latter working as a voice actor and director for The Mandalorian TV show. An episode with these two would be absolutely hilarious, even if we doubt that very much cooking would get done.

ALFRE WOODARD

Alfre Woodard is one of the most incredible veteran actors in the industry today. She, too, has roots in the Marvel universe, while also having worked with Jon Favreau on his version of The Lion King for Disney. Woodard would be a great choice to have on the show.

She’d be an excellent guest and it wouldn’t be that surprising if she had a number of fantastic family dishes to show off, as the actress is very big on family. Her knowledge both in front of the camera and behind the kitchen counter would be invaluable to Roy and Jon.

GORDON RAMSAY

When it comes to cooking shows, it’s natural to recruit one of the world’s most famous chefs to join you. The popularity of Gordon Ramsay is just unstoppable, and he’s so incredibly talented that maybe even Roy would be intimidated by him.

This would be such a bizarre crossover, but it could really work. The laid-back attitude of Roy and Jon would definitely clash with the high-pressure stakes of Gordon’s Hell’s Kitchen sensibilities, but the two would really learn a lot from this famous head chef.
