Elizabeth (the current queen) manages to escape and a parallel UK government is formed outside Britain by soldiers opposed to the German rule. Soon, a Scotland Yard detective named Douglas Archer finds himself in a conspiracy to take power away from the Germans.
X Company (2017)
X Company follows a group of five recruits who receive special training at a secret facility called Camp X in Lake Ontario, near Toronto. They are then sent to Europe to help the Allies in the war against Germany. They perform complex missions that include stealing codes and smuggling assets.
The critically acclaimed TV series aired for three seasons on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). It was also distributed to several parts of the world, including Japan, France, and Latin America by Sony Pictures Television.
The Bletchley Circle
The Bletchley Circle follows four women named Susan, Millie, Lucy, and Jean who secretly worked for the British military at the famous Bletchley Park to decipher German military codes during World War II. After the war ends, they quietly resume their normal lives.
However, when a ruthless serial killer begins terrorizing London, they are forced to go back to their code-breaking past to hunt him down. Since the police aren’t offering much help, the women are forced to do much of the work by themselves.

Sprawiedliwi (2010)
Sprawiedliwi follows Basia and Stefan, a young couple who risked their lives during World War II to help Jews. Stefan works as an architect while Basia is a nurse and member of the “Zegota” (an organization meant to help Jews in Nazi-occupied Poland).
Events in the series occur in two timelines: The present and during the war. Basia is the more ambitious partner since she involves herself with the organization from the start of the war. Stefan is initially reluctant but after a family tragedy, he changes his mind.
Copper (2012)
Copper mainly explores themes of prejudice, segregation, and class differences. Set in the 1860s, the series revolves around the Irish policeman Kevin “Corky” Corcoran who is trying to bring peace to the racially divided Five Points neighborhood, in New York City.
On the side, Corky is also trying to find out more about his wife who suddenly disappeared, and locate the killers of his daughter, who was murdered while he was in the south fighting for the Union Army. Copper aired for two seasons and finished on a high. The second season has a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Purge (2018)
Unlike Hunters, where the Nazis are trying to rule America, The Purge – which is quite underrated – presents a dystopian society that shows the horrors that would rain down if such a thing ever happened. In it, a totalitarian government gives an order declaring crime to be legal for 12 hours.
During this period, everything, including murder goes unpunished. People are thus forced to do their best to survive during this time period. How far will the moral ones hold on to their principals given that everyone around them is going crazy?
Watchmen (2019)
HBO’s Watchmen isn’t that similar to the comics but it’s still brilliant. The plot revolves around the rife racism in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where a group of white supremacists known as the Seventh Kavalry are fighting the Tulsa Police. Law enforcement officers are thus forced to hide their faces with masks in order not to be hunted down by the group.
Watchmen has been widely praised by critics. It currently holds a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes. It was also named the 2019 Television Program Of The Year at the American Film Institute Awards. It also won Best New Series at the Writers Guild of America Awards.
