It’s hard to believe that Netflix’s Grace and Frankie is heading into its final season. The first six seasons have been filled with ups, downs, tears, and hilarious meltdowns.

From the downfall of their marriages to a new beginning for our favorite pair of best friends, viewers have been apart of the journey and it’s hard to say goodbye. Nevertheless, before season seven falls upon us in 2021, let’s hope we see these 10 things unfold.

COYOTE & JESSICA GETTING MARRIED

It’s fulfilling that Coyote appears to have found love with such a loving and understanding woman. She’s a person who’s already familiar with Coyote’s parents and their unique dynamic and is more than understanding with it. Sure, she dated Coyote’s older brother Bud, which complicates things but what matters is their feelings for each other.

By the end of the sixth season, we see Coyote and Jessica at a pretty serious stage in their relationship. Coyote was ready to move in with Jessica while she’s already ready for him to pop the question. Regardless if these two move in together or get engaged, what matters is that these two advance in their relationship without Bud interfering.

MALLORY MOVING TO SAN FRANCISCO AND MAKING A NAME FOR HERSELF

It was a huge twist at the end of season six when Trust Us Organics acquired Say Grace. Brianna is no longer the head honcho and would now need to report to someone (even though she loathes supervisors).

But, the biggest twist was when Mallory stepped up and accepted the supervisor position (which would require her to move to San Francisco). She would no longer be in her sister’s shadow or seen as just a stay-at-home-mother. She would be doing something for herself for once. Brianna can be an intimidating force so we’re hoping Mallory takes control in season seven and follows her gut.

THE RISE UP BECOMING A SENSATION

It was pretty shocking when Grace was a “good wife” and listened to Nick’s advice on turning down funding from Mark Cuban on Shark Tank. Working with Mark Cuban would have been a huge deal for Rise Up, giving them the means to get Rise Up where it needed to be. But since they turned down the deal, Rise Up’s future was unknown in season six.

In the seventh and final season, we’re hoping the Rise Up becomes the success it was destined to become, bringing Grace and Frankie closer together instead of drifting apart.

BUD STAYING CONNECTED TO HIS BIOLOGICAL COUSIN

Unlike other seasons, Bud didn’t have a large storyline in the sixth season. We’ve already seen his courtship and wedding to Allison, we saw him become a father, and we saw him acquire his dad’s law firm. What else was in store for Bud? Sadly, the sixth season saw Bud become the green-eyed monster over Coyote and his ex-girlfriend but he does have a shining moment where he meets a biological member of his family. His cousin, Jordan, was in need of a kidney and Bud was a great match. But as it turned out, Jordan went with another donor’s kidney.

In the seventh season, it would be nice to see Bud and Jordan get to know each other better and hopefully integrate each other into their own families.

THE FAB FOUR LIKE WE’VE NEVER SEEN THEM

With Sol and Robert’s home up for repairs, the best option is for them to stay at Grace and Frankie’s beach house, which is a huge plot twist. Let’s not forget that the women moved into the beach house after Sol and Robert left them for each other, so with all four of them under one roof, we can only imagine what shenanigans are going to happen in the seventh season.

Will it be girls versus boys? Will Frankie and Sol’s similar personality and quirks be too much for Robert and Grace? How will this living arrangement affect Grace’s marriage to Nick? Time will tell.

BRIANNA SUPPORTING BARRY BECOMING A FATHER

It’s commendable that Grace and Frankie’s writers made Brianna be strong, independent, and a commitment-phobe. Unlike countless women on TV, Brianna doesn’t want the fairytale wedding or the house full of kids. She wants a successful business and to live life as she sees fit.

However, her boyfriend Barry has made some serious compromises by staying with Brianna out of love. With him donating his sperm to a same-sex couple, it gives him the opportunity to at least produce a child and watch him/her grow (much to Brianna’s chagrin).

Barry is such a sweet and thoughtful man who deserves to have his dreams come true as much as Brianna’s. It would be life-changing to see her on-board with Barry’s baby-making future.

AND MOVING INTO A HOME WHERE BARRY IS MORE COMFORTABLE

When Barry breaks up with Brianna. it’s obvious how much pain he is in and how much he’s been holding back. They really do want two different things in life and sometimes love isn’t enough. Brianna was against marriage and babies, which is exactly what Barry wanted. It was also made clear that Barry was living in Brianna’s house, not their house. He didn’t have closet space and who knows what else.

Now that these two are engaged, it would be nice to see Brianna and Barry become more united. Since their living arrangement was brought up, it would be a nice gesture to buy a home together and make it their own.

GRACE AND NICK’S MARITAL OUTCOME

When we first meet Nick’s assistant and ex-wife Miriam, she makes a joke that Nick would be in jail for a very long time without her assistance. Everyone laughed it off but by the season finale, it was made clear that Nick was dabbling in some very illegal business activities when he was arrested.

Will his arrest affect his marriage to Grace? These two have spoken about honesty and turning a new leaf but jail time could break this sense of trust between them. Not to mention it’s not fair to Grace to be living out her remaining years with her husband behind bars.

JOAN-MARGARET REMAINING IN THE US

It was quite a shock when Joan-Margaret (JM) told Frankie she was being deported after her visa was on its last leg. With Grace being newly married, JM was Frankie’s support team. Without JM, Frankie would be truly alone for the first time.

Thankfully, Grace saved the day by filing for a work visa for JM but will that last if Rise Up doesn’t thrive? And how will JM and Frankie’s relationship change now that Grace is back at the beach house with Frankie (…and Sol and Robert) while Nick is in jail?

GRACE AND FRANKIE REMAINING BEST FRIENDS

Grace and Frankie have been through Hell and back. They’re the only two people who went through what they went through and have truly relied on each other in their second act of life.

Frankie was gutted when Grace pulled the plug on Mark Cuban’s deal just because her husband told her not to and it’s obvious this could affect their relationship. But now that Nick is in jail, maybe this means their relationship can be saved. After all, there’s no one better for these women than each other.
