The Marvel Cinematic Universe, in addition to a number of other Marvel-based movies, have given popularity to a vast number of actors. Hugh Jackman, Chris Evans, and many others can credit a large portion of their fan base to the respective Marvel movies that they starred in. Even actors like Robert Downey Jr. and Benedict Cumberbatch who were well known actors before they became Marvel heroes saw their careers boom after starring in these movies....

Power Rangers has been going strong ever since the original Mighty Morphin Rangers first suited up in 1993. The series has switched hands to Disney, switched back to Saban and now is set to get a new movie series, complete with a cast of fresh faces and Elizabeth Banks doing what she does best: portraying a weird person in weird makeup. She’s like a Burton-less Johnny Depp. But dredging up a nostalgic-yet-widely mocked series about brightly-clad teenagers fighting unconvincing monsters isn’t going to be an easy task, and the movie will need more than a sizable special effects budget to bring the original Power Rangers to a new generation....

Anyone who hasn’t yet tuned in to This Is Us has sorely missed out on a few good cries thanks to the ridiculously good writers. The show tells the story of a broken family, whose past and current lives intertwine to teach life lessons. Each episode delivers a new change, epiphany, or loss to the Pearson family that makes hearts ache and opens the floodgates. Even the manliest of men will be reaching for a tissue by the end of one of Jack Pearson’s monologues....

When casting for a movie, filmmakers will regularly have to play a game of chance. While some actor choices may be the “safe” actors, other choices are the risky actors that sometimes pay off in a phenomenal way, but may also backfire horrendously, ruing the entire movie. Not only can bad casting choices ruin movies, but they can also ruin franchises, such as Terminator and Indiana Jones. Once Upon a Time began as an incredible new show depicting twists on our favorite fairy tales, first in a way that only adults could truly appreciate. Fans of DC Comics may still have a hard time believing it, but The CW braintrust that used Arrow’s realistic, moody action to launch the full-fledged metahuman speedster The Flash are only getting bolder. Not only have they called on more DC characters to team up for a time-traveling adventure, but the flying, furious Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée) is among the new recruits. Having been already introduced into the universe of The Flash as her everyday identity Kendra Saunders, the first half of the Arrow/Flash crossover saw her finally take the first step - or first flight - into adopted her superpower destiny....

Production houses are defined by the films they release. This is starker when considering those production houses that are independently placed, as their reputation and future movies generally take shape based on their initial film line-up. Blumhouse Productions are mostly known for their penchant to release horror films with a twist, and they take the route of presenting smaller movies with a big impact in their message.
